Photos and Journals from Wandering Souls
Prior to my joining Andavo/Virtuoso and starting Sugarpine Travel in Fallbrook, CA, I enjoyed twelve years planning travel, hotels, cruises, holidays and get-aways as an agent with AAA Travel.
Prior to AAA Travel, I began my travel planning career in 1989 at Jockey Club Travel in Marina Del Rey, CA and worked several years later at Newporter Travel in Palm Desert, CA.
According to my Trip Advisor app, I have visited 70 countries in my lifetime, returning to some destinations several times. As the child of a true adventurer, I continued to visit new locations and new countries, whenever possible.
My father introduced me to the thrill of adventure travel at a very early age and I don't believe that my urges to explore the earth, oceans and new cultures will ever go away.

We are always happy to send brochures
A Europe river cruise is one of the best ways to explore inland Europe, visiting cities, towns and villages that traditional big ships usually can't access. Beyond the ship, what makes a river cruise so different from an ocean cruise is the emphasis on the local culture of the places visited.
There are also far more exotic choices out there for those with an adventurous spirit and the desire to reach the farthest corners of the globe. Consider places such as the Kapuas River in Borneo, the Brahmaputra River in northeastern India, a river cruise in Vietnam or Cambodia, the Tisza river in eastern Hungary, or the Sava River in Croatia, or even the Chindwin River in Myanmar. And don't forget river cruising in the U.S. such as on the Mississippi River.
LET US KNOW IF WE CAN SEND YOU SOME BROCHURES.
1. We have experience.
Our agents have personally traveled to over 70 countries.
2. Sugar Pine travel agents are trained to take a critical look at each piece in your trip puzzle.
They make sure each piece meets your specific needs, so you’re happy with every penny spent.
3. We can make sense of the multitude of offers from cruise lines and airlines and hotels.
This year travel companies are offering more options than ever before in history—on land, in the air and on the seas. Is Fathom the right cruise for you? Is Delta Light good enough? A travel professional can decipher the subtle differences and choose the one that fits your requirements for this unique trip.
4. We will save you time and money.
5. We know how to take a trip from ordinary to extraordinary.
The best advisors spend a lot of time on the road themselves – scouting out hotels, deepening relationships with tour guides, and finding the best restaurants and things to do.
6. Sugar Pine Travel agents are the experts.
Like a doctor or an accountant, a travel counselor will ask the right questions, listen to your answers, understand your pain, and offer expert advice to guide you in making one of your most important decisions—how to spend your invaluable time off. Because there are no do-overs for a vacation gone wrong.
7. Knowledge is power.
From the visa and passport requirements to the health requirements of each country, we have the inside information that makes your trip perfect.
8. We have your back.
Have you ever been on a trip where everything went exactly as planned? This almost never happens. Issues are bound to pop up, and your Sugar Pine travel advisor is your personal help line and “fixer” who knows how to quickly turn things around for the better. If your flight is canceled, just have a seat and pick up the phone while the rest of the passengers are lined up trying to rebook. Didn't get the room category you booked? No need to argue with the front desk. One call will get it corrected. Whether you need an upgrade to an ocean view or a ticket out of harm’s way after an earthquake, your travel agent will be there for you, intervening with suppliers on your behalf. When they follow up after your trip, you’ll surely have an answer to this question: “Where do you want to go next?”
9. We are your personal shopper.
Over time we get to know you and your family, your likes and dislikes. You are so much more than a sale -- we provide the human connection that makes every transaction more pleasant and meaningful. Plus by supporting local businesses, you support your community.
10. We can offer customized experiences that no one else can.
After more than 30 years in the business, a Sugar Pine travel professional has the connections to arrange for the side trips, the special passes, the upgrades and little touches that are not available to the general public.
Our favorite place to visit so far has been Botswana.
